Cambridge Celebrates Canada Day At Home

The Cambridge Celebrates Canada Day Committee is sorry to announce that due to COVID 19 and social distancing our annual Canada Day event in Riverside Park will not be happening in 2020, but will be back in 2021.

Having said that, the committee is working on a event for 2020 and we need the community's help! Keep reading to find out how you can get involved...

While the coronavirus might have put the kibosh on our outdoor festivities, Cambridge will still celebrate Canada Day - but this year it will be live-streamed right to your living room!  “Cambridge Celebrates Canada Home!” will be a special online presentation suitable for the whole family. And what’s a celebration without all of YOU?!

Help us create the best party ever, by submitting your photos and videos!  Here are some of the things we’re looking for:

* Nominate your hero!  Is there someone from your community who has gone above and beyond and deserves to be honoured - a frontline worker? A volunteer? Essential services worker? Someone who has pivoted to help make critical PPE, deliver food or in some way helped our community in this time of need? Submit a photo or short video in tribute so we can share their story.

*Let’s remember some of the amazing Cambridge Canada Day celebrations of the past.  Share photos and videos of you enjoying the day in Riverside Park, at the fishing derby, the parade, fireworks or celebrating at local establishments.

*Help us celebrate Canada Day at home!  Make a banner, decorate your house, sing a song, do a dance, play an instrument, plant some flowers, hoist a flag or just do your thing!  Send in a video to add to our party. Don’t forget to wish Cambridge a Happy Canada Day!

*Stay tuned for details for our upcoming Canada’s Birthday Cake Bake-off Contest and chance to join in singing  O’Canada.

PLEASE send us your photos and videos by Friday, June 12
